Army Chief General Bipin Rawat also visited the 17 Mountain Division located in Gangtok and 27 Mountain Division located in Kalimpong on Thursday to take stock of the situation. Both have deployed 3-3 thousand troops in the remote border area and strengthened their position in Tri-Junction. Sources say that soldiers have been deployed at Tri-Junction for years, but the recent tension of the soldiers on Doca La Gen is very serious. Both do not want to get out of their place. China is trying to make ‘Class-40 Road’ in Doka La area, through which the army can pass 40 tons of vehicle. This includes light combat tanks, cannons, and other vehicles.
